Dr. Jane Elliott and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg NAACP

In the last 6 years, this country has experienced blatant racism in every state of the U.S. Racism is the number one disease in this country. We must be willing to deal with racism intentionally because racism negatively affects us all. On April 15 at 2 p.m., Dr. Jane Elliott will be coming to speak with the branch on racism and its impacts on us.

Dr. Jane Elliott is an American diversity educator. As a schoolteacher, she became known for her "Blue eyes/Brown eyes" exercise, which she first conducted with her third-grade class on April 5, 1968, the day after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King had a dream and I hope this event will be the catalyst to making his dream a reality. We can if we truly commit to seeing us all as part of the human race and by being truthful and transparent.
