NAACP Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Branch #5376 - "The Time Is Now. So Let's Get Busy and Seize the Time."

LEGAL REDRESS COMMITTEE

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg NAACP Legal Redress Committee recruits volunteer attorneys to assist members of the Charlotte community in obtaining valuable legal resources. We partner with existing legal organizations with legal redress matters in order to share resources and recruit new members. The Legal Redress Committee also seeks to implement professional and educational development initiatives for law students, new attorneys, and members of the community.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Legal Redress Committee does not provide legal counsel, although we will attempt to help connect you with the appropriate legal resources. In certain instances, we may be able to support you in an advocacy role, advising you on various complaints related to civil rights infringements.

In the event your issue is deemed a civil rights infringement, it may be referred to the NAACP Legal Department for further action.  The NAACP Legal Department maintains an active docket of Civil Rights cases, frequently in conjunction with a team of cooperating lawyers around the nation who work daily in the courts alongside the Legal Department to address Civil Rights violations and forge the way in the fight to prevent the erosion of Civil Rights law in this country.
